Membership Requirements

To obtain and maintain membership in the VOL community,
one shall:
- a. Be pursuing self-realization in a manner which fits oneself
and
is compatible with the rest of the members.
- b. Be willing to work towards realization of the Community
goals.
- c. Agree to be open and to communicate fully with other
Members in
all matters.
- d. Agree to honor and conform FULLY to the current Community
Bylaws
and Community Agreements.
- e. Agree to assist others in their growth, when asked, as long
as
it does not conflict with one's Inner Being.
- f. Agree not to partake in violence, except to defend oneself,
one's weaker "brother", or the Community, if attacked.
- g. Agree to share in group spiritual practices on a regular
basis.
- h. Agree to attend and partake in regular Community
meetings.
- i. Agree to be actively seeking growth and change within one's
self.
- j. Agree to be concerned with desires of the Community as a
whole,
above personal desires.
- k. Have read and understood the Community structure and
bylaws.
- l. Have signed the Community permanent membership
agreement.
- m. Have been accepted as a permanent member by the rest of the
permanent members.
- n. Agree that one's diet is meatless (mammal and fowl) and
mainly
consists of whole, natural foods.
[there can be rare exceptions to this for "specified members",
if
the rest of the membership agrees and or for medical
reasons.]
- o. Not be a regular user of drugs, psychedelic drugs or
alcohol.
[This means to "need" to consume these items on a regular basis
to be comfortable and or to "function".]
- p. Have been accepted as a provisional member and have
fulfilled
the requirements of a provisional member as set forth in the
Community Agreements.
- q. Have paid the current permanent membership fee.
[The fee is currently set at 2000 $ per adult-the first 6
membership fees will be given to the member who bought and
paid for the land to partially compensate him for his large
financial investment in the land, buildings and tools for the
community and so he has funds to build his personal
cabin-futher
incoming membership fees shall be used for community
improvements
and maintenance.]
- r. Have read the introduction to the VOL Community and be in
agreement with the principles of it.
- s. Agree be tolerant of individual "differences and
beliefs".
- t. Agree share in the operational costs and debts of the
Community.
- u. Agree to replace at their cost, Community tools that they
break
when using said tools because of misuse and any items lost,
stolen, or damaged due to their negligence.
